We’re Hiring: Coastal Research Technician
We’re hiring an assistant to support our field work and laboratory work! This includes following sampling and monitoring protocols, aiding with the installation of scientific equipment in tidal systems, and supporting data collections in coastal environments.
A typical day may involve traveling to Mahone Bay to assist with the installation of wave loggers along a shoreline, hiking through muddy tidal flats to collect samples, writing field reports, and using lab equipment to analyze sediment.
Start date: May 11, 2026.
Green Shores Case Studies are now live!
Our two recent case studies were created to detail the implementation of two projects within the Kespukwitk/Southwest Nova Scotia Priority Place, and how the Green Shores for Homes program was applied to conserve and restore Species at Risk habitat.
In 2023, Credit 2.1 was added to incentivize homeowners to steward Species at Risk (SAR) habitat and avoid impacting them with shoreline projects. To test the effectiveness of this new credit, we implemented two projects on private properties containing SAR habitat.
