Jane Heeney

Masters Student

Jane is a Masters Student studying the effects of feral horse activity on the dune dynamics of Sable Island. She moved to Halifax to complete her Bachelor’s in Marine Biology, and fell in love with the wild and dynamic Atlantic coast. She has since completed a Graduate Diploma in Remote Sensing, and has recently returned to begin her Master’s at Saint Mary’s University.

Jane was TransCoastal Adaptation’s Communications and Engagement Officer from 2022-2025, supporting community engagement, education, and outreach efforts.
