Communications and Engagement Officer

Ive Velikova (she/her) is the Communications and Engagement Officer. With a Master’s in Science Communication and over a decade of experience, she uses science stories to connect with people’s hearts and minds, build trust, and empower communities to act on climate change. Before joining TCA, Ive spent 4 years in the energy sector, working with Efficiency Canada and Relay Education on green workforce development and climate policy. She has tackled vaccine misinformation with Science Up First, hosted podcasts on science and climate topics, and nurtured community through local climate cafes. Her work is grounded in intersectional values, climate justice, and science literacy. When she's not gushing about science, you can find her birding, creating art, or creating art about birds!
