MSC applied science
With a BASc. in Civil Engineering from the University of Ottawa and an Architectural Technician diploma from Algonquin College, I was able to gain valuable experience as an EIT in building construction and M&E systems, with a focus on energy efficiency. Though my original career goals lied in environmental conservation and natural disaster mitigation, it's only when I returned to my home in the Maritimes to work for CORBO Engineering that I witnessed how much work there had to be done on our coasts and a door to that opportunity.
Through my Master's research, I hope to evaluate the stability of structural elements in living shorelines during winter to improve recommendations surrounding existing measures, an aspect still often overlooked in Atlantic Canada and northern regions. My recent time spent studying on Svalbard has equipped me with a better understanding of arctic coastal processes which, combined with past multidisciplinary experiences, continue to guide me forwards.
