Emma Bocking

Operations & Engagement Manager

Emma fell in love with nature as a kid on family canoe trips in the Kawartha Highlands, exploring sand dunes at her grandparent's house in British Columbia, and poking around in the backyard of her childhood home in Peterborough, Ontario. Her passion for peatlands grew during her Masters research at the University of Waterloo, where she studied the ecology of a poor fen in the Boreal plains of Northern Alberta. After finishing her degree, she moved to Atlantic Canada, where she has spent the past 10+ years working on projects relating to municipal stewardship, wetland conservation, outdoor education, policy, and protected areas planning for NGOs, municipal, and provincial governments. At TCA, she is passionate about collaboration, bringing people together, and supporting others in our efforts to solve complex coastal problems. In her free time, she enjoys reading, canoeing, going to farmer's markets, and exploring with her kiddo and partner from their home on the Eastern Shore.
